So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. - Genesis 1:27.
Your hands have made me and fashioned me. - Psalm 119:73.
Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him. - Isaiah 43:7.
There will be an auction in London on July 10 of a sheet paper that is pinkish in color and measures only eight by twelve centimeters, which is about the size of a postcard. It is expected to bring more than five million dollars when it is auctioned. Why so much? Because it is a sketch, a work of art by Leonardo da Vinci and it was sketched in preparation for da Vinci’s first great work, The Adoration of the Magi. It is priceless even though someone will buy it for several million dollars. It is priceless because it is an irreplaceable work of art. If this small little piece of paper were to be destroyed it could never be replaced.
What is the value of a soul? What is the value of a human life? Far more than the five million to be paid for da Vinci’s work. Because every human being that has ever lived, is living, or will be living is a masterpiece created by the greatest artist of all, God Himself. You are priceless! You are irreplaceable! You were created in the image of God for His glory.
You are completely unique and each day you live is a completely unique day. We are still being formed and shaped by the hands of our Creator. As Isaiah says “we are the clay, and You our potter; and all we are the work of Your hand (Isaiah 64:8).” Allow the Creator, the master artisan, God Himself to shape and mold you this day. Because you and this day are priceless!
