50-year-old Keith Rasmussen says that he was on his way to kill his sister with a knife when he was distracted by the Visions Night Club in Racine, Wisconsin. After Keith was kicked out of the club, he then rammed his car through the wall of the night club. A police spokesman, Joel DeSpain, reports that Rasmussen was located nine blocks from the night club and that he “denied driving the SUV to that location” because “he said that he arrived there with the help of Martians.” Keith was charged with Driving while Intoxicated, Reckless Driving, Hit and Run, Reckless Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Damage to Property, and he was surprisingly released after he posted a $2800 bail.

If you have never read Frank Peretti's books “This Present Darkness” and “Piercing the Darkness” you ought to. Peretti provides in his books a vivid presentation of the spiritual warfare that is going on all around us. There is a constant spiritual battle going on for the souls of all men, women, boys, and girls on Planet Earth. Satan has been at work causing trouble for the human race since the very beginning in the Garden of Eden. It was satan aka the serpent who tempted Eve saying in Genesis 3:1-5, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” Satan and his demonic minions have been busy ever since causing havoc everywhere they can. However, 60% of Americans according to a poll conducted in 2004 do not believe satan is a living being, but only a symbol of evil. Maybe it is just those Martians!

The Bible makes it clear that demons are not merely a psychological hallucination, and that they are very real. It is recorded in the Bible that Jesus cast demons out of people (Matthew 17:18; Mark 1:34; Mark 5) as did the apostle Paul. To deny that there is a devil and demons is to deny the truth of the Bible. You can blame it on the Martians, or you can be spiritually aware of the war that is being fought around you. As James says you should “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
