Scientifically Explained Miracles

Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen. - Exodus 14:21 NKJV.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.” And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea. Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. - Exodus 14:26-28 NKJV.
In the release of a study scientists say that the parting of the Red Sea described in Exodus 14 could have been caused by strong winds. The scientists believe that the strong winds may have opened up a land bridge. They also found that whenever the wind died down the water would have covered up the land again. Carl Drews of the United States National Center for Atmospheric Research stated that “The parting of the waters can be understood through fluid dynamics. The wind moves the water in a way that's in accordance with physical laws, creating a safe passage with water on two sides and then abruptly allowing the water to rush back in.”
The scientists could have saved the taxpayers some money just by reading the Exodus account of the miracle and believing it. Of course, this is an attempt to somehow downplay the miraculous and make it appear to be simply a natural occurrence. However, in this specific instance even if it was a natural occurrence, it was still miraculous in that the Children of Israel fled Egypt at just the right time to be there for the natural occurrence. Also, Pharaoh changed his mind and decided to pursue them at just the right time for them to follow the Hebrews into the sea bed and be drowned when the waters returned. I do believe that still qualifies as an incredibly wondrous miracle! This is another instance of science simply confirming the truth of the Bible.
There is no contradiction between science and Scripture. Many continually try to prove that there is; however, invariably, after someone claims that the Bible is wrong at some point then the truth about the truth of the Scriptures is uncovered some time later. Scientists are not perfect and their observation of the known universe is fallible. This is continually seen as old discoveries give way to new discoveries proving the old ones wrong. It is not the nature that scientists observe that is in conflict with the Scriptures. It is the fallible opinions of scientists that are sometimes in conflict with God's Word.
We need to remember Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” As we are told in the Gospel of John chapter one, Jesus is the Word become flesh; He never changes, and His Word never changes. In a constantly changing world, Jesus is the only One that will always be there, will never change, and His truth will always stand. The truth of the Word of God has stood the test of time, and it will stand the test of a few doubting scientists.
